
How to do improvisational theater? aims to initiate actors into the techniques of improvisational theater. Unlike other books on the same topic, the present one offers, alongside the study of the funding principles of this art and of its specificity in the repertoire of theater techniques, a step-by-step approach to creating an improvisation performance.
Its thirteen chapters present the most important aspects of improvisation, expanded with practical exercises and concrete examples, in order to allow the easy implementation of its principles by professional actors as well as students and educators working with teenagers or children.
University professor Mihaela Sîrbu was part of the first improvisational theater group in Romania, almost twenty years ago, and since then has directed improvisational performances in theaters across the country and at the National University of Theater and Film I.L. Caragiale. She also teaches improvisation in workshops aimed at improving the communication abilities of actors, students, children and adults alike.
